Cabo San Lucas beaches can be enjoyed on foot, on horseback, or from the window of your car. Here are a
few of the the beaches of Los Cabos, from Cabo San Lucas, northward to San Jose del Cabo. The “km” listed after
some of them, is the distance north of Cabo San Lucas as noted on the roadside mileage markers. This is useful in
locating the beach from the highway if you are driving or taking the bus.
Land's End beach in front of the Finisterra and Solmar
Hotels and Terrasol condominiums on the peninsula's very tip is wide and flat. Wonderful for strolling, snoozing,
sun-bathing and listening to the sound of the surf.
Lover's Beach, Playa de Amor, is small and usually not very crowded. You can get there by hiking over
the rocks on Land's End beaches from the Hotel Solmar. Of Cabo san Lucas beaches this is perhaps the most
famous. This is the only place where you walk from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean in a matter of seconds.
The contrast is unforgettable.
Los Arcos beach area is for body surfers. But be advised. The road from the highway to the beach is
rough. A real adventure. Bring lunch, there are no services and it's far enough back to Cabo San Lucas that you
won't want to run out of beer or food!
Medano beach in front of the Hacienda and Melia Hotel is lined with
restaurants and beach shops, selling curios and renting all sorts of exotic water sports equipment. Jet skis,
wind surfers, fishing boats, canoes and diving gear are all available.
The upper photo is the beach in front of the Hacienda resort.
In the side photos you will see the point and waters in front of the beach.
In the bottom photo, the ship in the distance is a cruise ship coming to port. Cabo
has no deep water port so the cruise ships anchor off-shore and passengers are ferried to shore.

Whale's Head, Cabeza de Ballena beach, is a wonderful
beach for fishing and snorkeling, or just relaxing.
Shipwreck Beach, Playa Barco Varado, at Km. 9.5. A freighter found an early demise here and make
this one of the more interesting of Cabo San Lucas beaches. Now fishing, diving, snorkeling, swimming and surfing
can be found here.
Widow's Beach, Km. 11, is great for swimming. Tide pools with interesting marine life make
it an underwater explorer's dream.
Santa Maria Cove, Km. 12, near the Hotel Twin Dolphin, is one of the
area's most beautiful bays. Rugged mountains, meet the water at either side of this perfect moon-shaped Cabo
San Lucas beach. Ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving. Bring your own picnic. Make a day of it. If
you get there early, you will find it deserted. As the day progresses beach vendors arrive and tour boats
bring scuba divers and snorklers to the coves reefs. Mid-day a vendor arrives to provide snorkel gear rentals.
It never gets crowded and you will have a wonderful relaxing time.

The top photo is of our favorite of all Cabo San Lucas beaches. Santa Maria cove as seen from the
road/path leading down to it. You will need to get off the bus or taxi at the highway and walk down.

Side photos show the beach and the cove. There is excellent snorkeling at the base of the mountain you see at
the far side of the cove. Scuba diving is good throughout the cove. Below is an aerial view of Santa Maria
cove.
Cabo San Lucas Snorkeling Adventure Cruise to Santa Maria Cove
Be sure to add this adventure to your Cabo activities! Cruise from Cabo up to Bahia Santa María and kick
up your fins in the aquamarine water! Santa Maria Cove is extraordinarily beautiful. This Cabo snorkeling cruise
takes you up to the craggy rock coastline to see the protected marine sanctuary’s colorful underwater creatures.
Refreshments are served onboard. Duration: 3 hours Available: Daily from dock "D" at the marina in Cabo San
Lucas.
Chileno Beach, Km. 15 by the Hotel Cabo San Lucas is
great for swimming, scuba diving, waterskiing and surfing. Sports equipment can be rented. Local guides can assist
you.
Buenos Aires, is a dazzling expanse of beach, good for surfing and strolling; not swimming. Great for
whale watching.
Palmilla beach lies just north of Hotel Palmilla. It is naturally protected and ideal for swimming,
diving, or snorkeling. Sports equipment is available for rent on the beach. It's also the launching pad for the
Palmilla fleet, one of the finest in the world.
Acapulquito, is the "Hot" surfing beach near the very north end of the corridor. It's pretty rough with a
large break. Worth seeing.

Our trip to Los Cabos and our exploration of Cabo san Lucas beaches wouldn't be complete without an equarian
adventure!
Always wanted to go horseback riding on the beach. Here we are, getting ready to
mount up.
Here we are, underway. You can tell she's enjoying the ride!
Part of our journey took us up a canyon away from the beach. Lot's
of interesting desert terrain and rock formations. Here we are, stopped for a pose.
Costa Azul Beach is the northernmost in our Cabo san
Lucas beaches list. A favorite with local surfers. The swell can get quite large and make surfing a challenge here!
San José del Cabo's fishing fleet is based here and at daybreak it's a sight worth seeing as the armada heads out
towards the rising sun.
